The Founder’s Story

Perhaps I’ll just tell you about the mac-n-cheese.

I’d just come to after collapsing on the floor. An ambulance was waiting and the EMTs wanted to take me to the ER. But I told them I couldn’t go, “because the kids hadn't had dinner yet.” In fact, I informed them, “I’m gonna make mac and cheese.”

Luckily, they ignored me.

What followed were weeks of testing in search of a diagnosis. And eventually, I got one … and a pacemaker to treat a heart condition I didn’t know I had.

Which got me thinking. If I was willing to put my life at risk to get dinner on the table that night, where else was I putting myself at risk? How many times had I done that at work? Because, like you, I’m trying to change the world.

Just like parenting, it’s work that makes me feel good. But it also confuses me about where my needs stop and the world’s needs begin. I bet you can relate.

When I asked myself these questions as a Mom, the answer was a book full of ideas — and permission — to practice self-care while raising your kids.

When I asked myself this question at work, the answer was ImpactFull.

ImpactFull allows me to bring my toolkit and track record of work to you. With wide-ranging experience as a writer and public speaker, years in nonprofit fundraising, engagement as a trusted advisor to social sector CEOs and philanthropists, and a network that spans the globe, I am at your service, here to help you change the world and still get a good night’s sleep.

I understand you’re tempted to put work first and your needs last. But you don’t have to, for we are far more than the sum of our parts — and many hands (and hearts) make light work.

After 20 years in the “change sector,” I’m convinced there are more good people than bad, more fixers than villains, and more do-ers than complainers. We don’t even have to convince haters and nay-sayers to join us — we just need to meet as many like-minds as we can.

Let’s tell them what you’re working on, what problem you’re solving — and then invite them to come along.

That’s what ImpactFull is all about. We’ll help you tell your story, raise (or give away!) more money, increase your impact, grow your team and your network.

In short, we can grow your legacy, while lightening your load.

As most “About” sections list some accolades and accomplishments, I’ll note here that I got a BA in Political Science from UCLA and a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern. I spent 5 years working as a reporter before moving full-time to philanthropic pursuits. On the personal front, I’m a mom, wife, runner, volunteer, Spanish student, aspiring bird-watcher, and I love a good bumper sticker.
