Playing Horseshoes with Your Mother (Earth) | Alden Stoner, CEO at Nature Sacred

Decades ago, when Alden Stoner arrived home from a grade-school field trip to the Chesapeake Bay with a declaration to her parents that they needed to start recycling they were supportive but surprised.

Activism around the environment was far from mainstream at the time, but they said they’d follow along if she took the lead.

And she did.

And she still does.

As CEO of Nature Sacred, the nonprofit that grew out of her parents’ charitable foundation, Alden is still leading her family – and communities around the world – to make the world better by making it greener.

Take a listen while Alden shares tales of helping bring playgrounds and pocket parks to jails, hospitals, abandoned spots, and parking lots, all led by the communities that dream them up. In so doing, play is prioritized, and the places to do it become sacred.
