Practical Play for Changemakers | Kristine Michie

Adding some practical tools to the issue exploration and whimsical anecdotes you’ve come to expect from The PlayFull Podcast, this episode describes activities you can use with groups of changemakers to grow camaraderie, community, and inspiration.

In its work with movement builders nationwide, ImpactFull (PlayFull’s sister company) uses creative, hands-on engagement to forge deeper connections and breakthrough moments for teams and leaders in the change sector.

In this episode, you’ll learn about ‘Sugar & Salt', our playfull twist on the stodgy SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis that has long dominated but rarely inspired personal and organizational reflection in the workplace. In its place, Sugar & Salt helps teams and individuals identify their natural aptitudes and surfaces the puzzle-piece nature inherent in most groups if we understand our unique shapes and how we each contribute to the whole.

We’ll also describe how crafting and sharing your impact origin story (with an activity called ‘How I Came to Care’) is a fantastic way to merging on your personal “why” for wanting to make the world a better place with an understanding of the mindset and motivation that drives those with whom you partner, fund, and organize.

Take a listen and get inspired as we bring to life two items off a large menu of playfull and impactfull offerings that bring fun to the serious work of changing the world.
